Chartered Fishing Trips

Fishing takes time! The recommended amount of time for a great tarpon charter is 6 hours. However, 4 hour, 8 hour or 8 hour split trips* are also available.

In addition to tarpon charters, shark, goliath grouper, and backcountry fishing charters are also available. For every season there is something going on in Charlotte Harbor, Pine Island Sound, Boca Grande, and the area beaches.

Florida regulations permit only 3 lines per boat in the water.

Rates are for two anglers. Each additional angler will be $50. Three people can fish comfortably on Captain Ryan's boat.

* Split Charter is 4 hrs in AM, 4 hrs in PM with a break in between.

Hill Tide

Hill tide is a natural phenomenon that occurs during a full or new moon in the summer months. It's an extreme high tide followed by an extreme low tide that draws calico crabs out of Boca Grande Pass into the Gulf waters. This sparks a feeding frenzy with the tarpon as they spread out as far as five miles off the beach to "gulp" crabs.

Hill Tide fishing is done in the late afternoon when the crab start appearing on the top the water. Kids and adults have a great time scooping the crabs up with nets to put in to the live well to use for bait. The tackle used for this type of tarpon fishing is also different. Spinning reels are used instead of conventional reels.
